Michigan Walleye Tour

Linwood Qualifier, June 12-13

Ryan Sagady and I won the MWT event out of Linwood.  We weighed 18 pounds of walleye on day one and 16 pounds on day two.  We were fishing the mouth of the Saginaw River.  We both jigged and livebait rigged.  A key to our success were our St. Croix Rods; the sensitivity telegraphed bites and we were able to hook up with fish that had we been using other rods we would never have known we had a bite.  The other key were Big Bite Baits Jerk Minnows.  These soft plastics have been absolutely dominating on the Saginaw River over the last year.  We use a 4 inch forktail bait that is pearl in color.  We want to thank all of our sponsors and family and friends that support us.  We are off to a great start with a first and second place finish; our next MWT event is July 10-11 out of Tawas.  Thanks to Augres Marine, Starcraft Boats, Mercury Marine, Trailmaster Trailers, St. Croix Rods, Big Bite Baits, Church Tackle, Hopkins Lures, Costa Del Mar Sunglasses, Warrior Lures, Pradco Fishing Products, my wonderful wife Bridgette, my stepson Jared, and my mom and dad.

Bay City Qualifier, May 1-2

Ryan Sagady and I finish 2nd in tourney using Big Bite Baits 4" Biobait Jerk Minnows in Pearl and Baby Sea Trout colors.  We were vertical jigging using 1/4 and 3/8 oz jigs tied to St. Croix Rods Legend Tournament Walleye River Jigging rods.  Read more about the tournament and the fishing in my reports section.
