Western High School Fishing Club

Monthly meetings, tackle and fishing seminars, guest speakers, and fishing trips will be offered. Central High School is also starting a club. Plans are in the works for a fishing competition between the two schools this spring.

Maximus Sportfishing specializes in hands-on walleye fishing in Michigan; interactive, exciting, and informative seminars; and walleye tournament angling. Whether you are looking for a memorable family experience, a novice looking for an adventure, or a seasoned angler looking to learn new spots and techniques, trips will be tailored to meet your needs. Seminars will be a hands on experience for your guest and will cover techniques, equipment, electronics, conservation, ethics, weather changes, safety, and any other topics you would like to discuss. Fishing trips will take place aboard a walleye tournament grade vessel that is safety inspected and fully equipped with the latest fish catching technology. All the bait, tackle, and equipment will be provided and you are encouraged to actively participate in the fishing experience. The trips are designed to provide an affordable way for family members and friends to experience a memorable day fishing.

We will be fishing out of a 2008 Starcraft STX 2050. It is powered by a 225hp Mercury OptiMax Pro XS and is one of the fastest boats on the water with a top speed of 60mph. It is also a smooth and dry riding boat that will provide a safe, comfortable, and productive day on the water.
